City of Galena Park, Texas
This is a brand-new replacement facility for Woodland Acres Elementary School, fully independent of the existing middle school also on the site. This 79,000sf school houses up to 690 students and 70 members of staff. Internally it features 25 classrooms, a multipurpose room & cafeteria adjoined by a moving partition, and a high-volume Learning Resource Center at the heart of the building. The site includes a new parking lot, off-street bus loop, and multiple play areas. Externally the ‘Woodland’ identity of the site is emphasized by a rustic ‘lodge’ look to the design, featuring stone and timber style exposed structure.
