The new $1.6B, 12‑story LBJ Hospital expansion, designed in association with HKS, will add 390 private rooms with future capacity for 450. The Level I trauma‑capable facility will deliver comprehensive clinical and diagnostic services, including emergency care, imaging, cardiology, laboratory spaces, pharmacy, nuclear medicine, and labor and delivery. Funded through a 2023 bond referendum, the hospital is under construction and planned to open in late 2028, strengthening accessible, high‑quality care for Harris County’s growing population..
