A former 2,209‑SF bookstore was converted into Sam Houston State University’s secure, full‑service data center, creating a highly controlled environment for modern data operations. The project introduced a new computer room sized for 48U equipment cabinets, dedicated electrical and cabling spaces, fire suppression systems, and refrigerant distribution units. Additional spaces include a supervisor’s office, an operations center with monitoring stations, and a restroom. Comfort‑cooling HVAC serves occupied areas, while the computer room features dedicated environmental controls, resulting in a compact, fully functional facility tailored to SHSU’s technology needs.
